Set of six handmade children’s wooden magnifying glasses. Crafted from responsibly sourced Birch ply (FSC approved) with a real glass lens for real-world play.

Magnifying glasses allow children to see the intricate details of nature with more clarity. Using a magnifying glass can help to develop children’s gross motor skills as well as their hand-eye coordination. I have handmade each magnifying glass with the greatest of care and attention to detail.

Each magnifying glass has been gently rounded on the edges to allow for a comfortable grip. It is then hand-sanded and polished, finished with a soft, child-safe wax to achieve a smooth overall texture (Gilly’s Food Safe Wax). Once I have carefully inspected the overall product, I hand burn a logo onto each handle.

This group set comes stored in two environmentally friendly calico bags.

The use of a glass lens in my product is to provide children with real-world play. An eco-friendly alternative to plastic lens models, which provides children with a crisp, clear view of their world. Wonderful to take on an outdoor adventure beyond the classroom walls to observe bugs, leaves, bark, etc.
